The ability to “charge batteries anytime anywhere™” becomes a reality with Energy Harvesters' Walking Charger™. With people ‘tethered’ to and highly reliant on their electronic devices to operate in today’s active electronic and technically demanding world, running out of battery power is not an option. We have all experienced low battery power and the frustration that goes with it. The “Walking Charger™” will become an integral part of footwear; a ubiquitous shoe feature that will be widely available. It presents “green-tech” appeal for delivering personal power, for not disposing of batteries and it will be an important gateway catalyst product towards the rapidly approaching trend of wearable electronics.
In its first product inception the Walking Charger™ is a plug and play sole insert for footwear. Our power output is anticipated to be up to 4 watts at normal walking pace, able to provide battery charge within an hour, a 100X advancement on developing or deployed similar applications. We have a U.S. patent pending and have filed an international patent application under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and for patent rights in the European Union, Japan, and China. We have built a prototype validating our technology and are proceeding with a Generation 2 design and patents to embody off-the-shelf technology and a simplified and cost reduced direct energy conversion force generator.
